Overview
Sunset Bay State Marine Park is located on Cattaraugus Creek near the river's mouth with easy access onto Lake Erie. The park has modest accommodations for boaters, picnickers and anglers. The marina utilizes a floating dock system with keypad coded entry gates to the docks.
Natural Features:
Cattaraugus Creek flow rates and depth vary widely throughout the seaons and are very weather dependent. For current flow and depth, please check the Gowanda Gauge through the USGS.
Recreation:
Bird watching and walking the harbor break wall are popular activities. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash; maximum 2 per slip. Proof of rabies vaccination via Veterinarian certificate must be available on request - collar tag will not be accepted as proof. There are picnic tables, grills and a fire ring available for use.
Facilities:
There is a pumpout available onsite. However, fuel is available upstream at Hidden Harbor Marina.
Nearby Attractions:
The park is also within easy walking distance to the Town of Hanover Beach on Lake Erie for swimming during the summer months. Evangola State Park is nearby, 6.5 miles East of Sunset Bay with camping available.
Booking Rules
